A tailored solution for those who want to start martial arts at their own pace.
Want to start practicing martial arts, but a basic course feels too general? The personal starter pack is for you.
In a three-hour personal "crash course", instruction is tailored specifically to your interests and skill level. You can participate alone, with a friend, or in a small group.
The pack suits people who want a safe, personal start without a large group — for example if your schedule is tight, if a new hobby feels intimidating, or if you want to review the basics calmly before joining. It also suits people who have already tried a trial class and want a deeper start before regular group training.
After the three hours you have a one-month membership so you can continue in group classes in Tampere and Hyvinkää. You can also move straight to a monthly membership or explore the basic course if a group start feels more natural. See current prices and options on the pricing page.
During the pack we cover the basics of safe martial-arts practice, falling, and a few simple techniques. You also get a clear picture of how weekly training at the dojo works: when to arrive, how a class is structured, and what to expect from your first group sessions. If you only want individual sessions without membership, see private lessons.
Many beginners value the chance to ask questions calmly and repeat movements without rush. The instructor has time to notice where body use or timing needs clarity, and builds the session around that. You also get a realistic sense of what regular aikido practice feels like in everyday life — not only as a one-off try-out.
3 hours of personal instruction
In practice the three hours often go like this: first safety, dojo etiquette, and body preparation; then falling and basic movement; finally a few partner techniques and a discussion of how you continue in the group. We can emphasize softer body awareness, clearer technique, or preparation for your first group classes — depending on what you want.
We do not try to cover all of aikido at once. The goal is that you leave with clear tools: how to fall safely, how to move on the tatami, and how to practice with a partner respectfully. With that foundation, group classes feel more familiar from the start.
You can purchase additional hours after the pack if you wish. Current prices for extra hours and the full pack are on the pricing page.
The price depends on whether you come alone, as a student, or in a small group. Ongoing membership prices are on the pricing page — the pack includes the first month's membership.

You can also take the starter pack with a friend or in a small group. Starting together is more fun and often more affordable per person. In a group of two or three you still have time to ask questions and get personal coaching — without the pace of a large basic-course group.
The basic course is a group start with a shared schedule. The starter pack is a personal (or small-group) three-hour package with content tailored to you. Both lead naturally into regular training.
