    Pricing and memberships

Choose the membership that suits you. All memberships include training at both dojos and a free trial class.

    What does membership include?

A monthly membership opens training at both the Tampere and Hyvinkää dojos. Adult memberships start at €60/month and juniors at €40/month. If you train only in Hyvinkää, a lower-priced local option is available. The first trial class is always free, so you can try before you commit.

Membership includes group classes, belt exams, and the option to use our gi service. You do not pay separately for each class: membership covers regular training according to the dojo schedule. You can also explore the basic course or read more about our dojo.

Choose a membership based on where you train and how often. Most adults start with a monthly plan that covers classes in both Tampere and Hyvinkää. If you are still unsure, begin with a free trial class or ask via the contact form. We invoice by billing period, and you can also pay by cash, Edenred, ePassi, or card at the dojo.

Membership is meant for ongoing practice, not a one-off drop-in fee. You can come more often or less often — the pace is yours. If life changes, membership can be paused by agreement. The goal is a clear and fair model: you know what you pay, what you get, and how to start. If you are still wondering whether aikido suits you, try first — the membership decision can wait until you have seen the dojo in practice.

Before joining, it helps to think only about practical things: when you can train, which dojo is easier to reach, and which membership feels sensible right now. We do not expect you to be sure about a long-term hobby immediately. Many people start with a trial class, continue a few times, and decide only then. If you need help choosing, we are happy to help — without a sales pitch.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to the most common questions about membership, payment, and getting started. If you cannot find what you need, feel free to contact us — we are happy to help you choose a sensible way to begin.

Can I try aikido before joining?

Yes. The first trial class is always free and does not commit you to a membership. You can book a time, step onto the mat, and see what training feels like at our dojo. You get guidance on falling and basic movement, so you are not left alone. If the art suits you, you can join later at your own pace — without rush or pressure.

Do I need my own equipment?

We lend training equipment to beginners, so flexible clothing and an open mind are enough at first. As you continue, we recommend getting your own aikidogi — it is more comfortable for regular practice and makes movement on the mat easier. We are happy to help with choosing and buying gear when the time is right. There is no rush to buy anything in the first sessions.

    Can I pause my membership?

Yes. Memberships can be paused for vacation, illness, or another break. The minimum pause period is two weeks. Tell us about your situation in advance and we will arrange the practical details together — the goal is a membership that flexes with everyday life, without unnecessary bureaucracy. After a pause, you can continue where you left off.

    How does payment work?

We send an invoice for each membership period. You can also pay by cash, Edenred, ePassi, or card at the dojo. If you have questions about payment, you can always get in touch — we are happy to help you find a smooth way to handle membership fees. The aim is clear payment that does not get in the way of training.

    Are belt exams included?

Yes. Belt exams are included in the membership price; there is no separate exam fee. Exam dates are announced separately, and preparation happens as part of regular training. Progress is personal: you take an exam when you and the instructors feel the timing is right. Exams are part of learning, not competition.

What is the difference between memberships?

Memberships mainly differ by where you train and which age group you belong to. Most adults choose an option that covers classes in both Tampere and Hyvinkää. If you train only in Hyvinkää, a lower-priced local option is available. Juniors have their own memberships. Student and senior options are shown in the pricing section. Exact prices are below — we do not add hidden fees.
